Common Workflows

Route Creation

  • Routes are typically generated automatically when:
    • New pick tickets are created
    • Deliveries are scheduled
    • Orders are processed
  • System checks for existing routes matching:
    • Delivery date
    • Assigned truck
    • Available capacity
  • If a matching route exists, adds stop to existing route
  • If no matching route exists, creates new route

Loading Process

  • Loading team accesses pick tickets in reverse order
  • Items are loaded last-in-first-out based on delivery sequence
  • Team confirms loading status for each item through pick tickets
  • Loading is typically scheduled for the day before delivery

Delivery Process

  • Drivers access routes via tablet/mobile device
  • Use integrated Google Maps for navigation
  • Update delivery status at each stop
  • Can report problems or exceptions
  • Completes manifest at delivery location

Route Optimization

  • Schedulers can manually arrange stops
  • Automatic optimization available through Google Maps
  • System considers:
    • Delivery sequence
    • Geographic location
    • Time windows
    • Vehicle capacity

Route Completion

  • All stops must be marked as delivered
  • System updates inventory and order status
  • Accounting can generate invoices from completed routes
  • Routes archived for historical reference
  • Shipping records can be reviewed and processed for billing

Remember: Routes are designed for single-day, single-truck operations. Multiple days or trucks require separate route records.
