Purpose

The Language module serves two main functions:

  1. Allows customization of phrases and text throughout the solution to use company-specific jargon or trade-specific terminology.
  2. Enables the addition of new languages that can be loaded in the solution for user language preferences.

To access the Language module, select the gear icon at the top of most pages, choose "Company", then select "Language" in the Company Preferences module.

Field Description
Language Dropdown to select the language for customization
Phrase Search field to find specific phrases
Filter Button to apply the search criteria
Clear Button to clear the search criteria
Update Button to save changes made to phrases

Column Headers

Field Description
ID Unique identifier for each phrase
PHRASE The customizable text as it appears in the selected language
DEFAULT PHRASE The original text in the system's default language
DEFAULT PHRASE IN ENGLISH The English version of the phrase (for reference)
↻ Button Resets the individual phrase to its default value

Features and Usage

Customize Phrase/Text

  1. Select the language preference
  2. Scroll to the desired phrase or use the search bar with the Filter option
  3. Enter the desired phrase or text in the first field under the Phrase column
  4. Choose the Update button to apply changes

Note: A Google API key is required in the Company Preferences, API section to load additional languages.

Reset Language to Defaults

  1. In the Language module, select the button on the bottom right of the screen
  2. Choose "Reset All" This action will reset all custom phrases to the solution defaults.

Individual User Language Settings

Users can set their personal language preferences:

  1. Select the gear icon at the top right of the screen
  2. Choose "User Preferences"
  3. In the Settings section, select the Language field to display available options
  4. Choose the desired language

Note:

  • This setting requires a Google Translate API key set in Company Preferences
  • It only affects module, menu, and field label names in TRUE
  • It does not translate data entered into text fields
