Common questions about using Tax1099 integration with TRUE

Setup & Configuration

Use the Tax1099 integration at year-end when preparing 1099 forms for subcontractors and vendors who received $600 or more in payments during the tax year. The IRS requires 1099-NEC forms to be filed by January 31st for non-employee compensation.

  • 1099-NEC: For payments to independent contractors and subcontractors
  • 1099-MISC: For rent, royalties, and other miscellaneous payments
  • Review vendor payments throughout the year to ensure accurate W-9 information

Tax1099 charges per form filed. Pricing varies based on volume and services selected. Visit Tax1099.com for current pricing information. The TRUE integration itself does not have additional costs beyond your Tax1099 subscription.

Features & Usage

The integration exports vendor payment information needed for 1099 preparation:

  • Vendor Information: Name, address, TIN/SSN
  • Payment Totals: Total payments made during the tax year
  • Payment Categories: Non-employee compensation, rent, etc.
  • Company Information: Your business EIN and address

Tax1099 offers TIN verification services to validate taxpayer identification numbers before filing. This helps prevent rejected filings due to name/TIN mismatches with IRS records.

Tip: Run TIN verification early in Q4 to allow time to request corrected W-9 forms from vendors before the filing deadline.

IRS deadlines for 1099 forms are:

  • January 31: Deadline to furnish 1099-NEC copies to recipients
  • January 31: Deadline to file 1099-NEC with IRS
  • January 31: Deadline to furnish 1099-MISC copies to recipients
  • February 28 (paper) / March 31 (electronic): Deadline to file 1099-MISC with IRS

Note: Dates may vary by year. Always verify current deadlines with the IRS or Tax1099.
