Purpose
The CRL Showers Online Integration imports glass orders and hardware lists from C.R. Lawrence's Showers Online configurator directly into TRUE. This integration reads PDF exports and automatically creates line items with product details, quantities, sizes, and pricing - streamlining procurement and materials management for shower door fabrication.
Requirements: C.R. Lawrence Showers Online account with PDF export capability. Access to Purchasing, Materials, Quotes, or Jobs modules in TRUE.
How to Import CRL Showers Online Orders
Import glass orders and hardware lists from Showers Online into TRUE
The Showers Online integration provides two drop zones - one for Glass orders and one for Hardware lists. You can import either or both PDF files to create line items in TRUE.
Create purchase order line items from Showers Online glass and hardware PDFs.
- Navigate to Purchasing module and select or create a PO
- Switch to the Items tab
- Click the Gear icon
- Select Partner Apps
- Click Showers Online
- Drag your Glass Order PDF into the Glass drop zone
- Drag your Hardware PDF into the Hardware drop zone
- Click Submit to import line items
Note: You can upload either Glass, Hardware, or both files at once. Each is processed separately based on its drop zone.
Create material records from Showers Online exports.
- Navigate to Materials module
- Click the Gear icon
- Select Partner Apps
- Click Showers Online
- Follow the same drop zone process for Glass and Hardware files
Add Showers Online items to Quote or Job line items for estimating and project costing.

- Switch to the Items tab
- Click the Gear icon
- Select Partner Apps
- Click Showers Online
- Import Glass and/or Hardware PDFs as needed
Field Mapping
How Showers Online data maps to TRUE line item fields
Glass orders create one line item per glass panel page in the PDF. The integration reads glass specifications and populates TRUE fields accordingly.
| Showers Online (Glass) | TRUE Field |
|---|---|
| Glass description text | Products / Service |
| Quantity | Quantity |
| Unit of measure | Unit |
| Panel dimensions | Size |
| Additional specifications | Notes |
Note: The integration reads glass pages only - cover pages and summary pages are skipped automatically.
Hardware lists create one line item per hardware component. The integration combines part information into a comprehensive product description.
| Showers Online (Hardware) | TRUE Field |
|---|---|
| Part Number: Description - Finish | Products / Service |
| Qty column | Quantity |
| Unit Cost | Unit Price |
| Cut instructions (e.g., "1 cut into: 29-15/16") | Notes |
Product Matching: The integration searches your product catalog using the Display_With_Description_calc field. If a single match is found, the line item is linked to that product.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the CRL Showers Online integration
Import Issues
If you upload a glass order PDF that contains only one page of a multi-page order, items may not import correctly.
Solution:
- Export the complete glass order from Showers Online (all pages)
- Upload the full PDF rather than individual pages
- If you only have partial pages, manually enter those items
Note: The PDF file will still upload to the PO's file repository even if items don't import. You can reference it for manual entry.
Extra hardware items that are manually entered in Showers Online (not generated by the configurator) may be dropped during import.
Why This Happens:
The integration is designed to read items in a specific format from the hardware list. Manually added items may not follow the expected format and can be skipped.
Workaround:
- Import the hardware list normally
- Compare the imported items with the PDF
- Manually add any missing items that were dropped
- Reference the uploaded PDF in the file repository
If the import appears stuck and keeps showing "action running," the process may have encountered an issue.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Wait a few minutes - some large files take time to process
- Refresh the browser if the action seems stuck
- Check if items were actually created (they may have imported despite the message)
- Try the import again with a fresh browser session
- Contact TRUE Support if the issue persists
If the same import process works on some POs but fails on others, there may be PDF-specific issues.
What to Try:
- Wait a few hours and try again - the issue sometimes resolves itself
- Try importing on a different user account to rule out session issues
- Verify the PDF isn't corrupted by opening it in a PDF viewer
- Re-export the file from Showers Online and try again
Tip: If you find a specific file consistently fails while others work, submit the failing file to TRUE Support for analysis.
Product Matching
Occasionally, part numbers from the PDF may be read with slight errors (e.g., "BM8x8CH" read as "BMS8X8CH" or "V1E537CH" read as "V1ES37CH").
These OCR reading errors can occur when:
- The PDF quality is low
- Similar characters are misread (8 vs S, E vs 5)
- Font rendering varies between exports
What to Do:
- Review imported items and compare to the original PDF
- Correct any misread part numbers manually
- Report consistent misreadings to TRUE Support for OCR improvement
Glass order imports may not include pricing while hardware imports do. This is due to differences in how the two PDF formats present pricing information.
The glass order PDF format focuses on specifications (size, type, quantity) rather than pricing. Hardware lists include unit cost columns that are captured during import.
Workaround:
- Import glass items for specifications and quantities
- Update pricing manually after import
- Use your catalog pricing for glass products when available
Module Access
The Showers Online integration is available in four modules:
- Purchasing - Items tab > Gear > Partner Apps > Showers Online
- Materials - Gear > Partner Apps > Showers Online
- Quotes - Items tab > Gear > Partner Apps > Showers Online
- Jobs - Items tab > Gear > Partner Apps > Showers Online
All four modules support both Glass and Hardware drop zones with the same import functionality.
The Showers Online Partner App is not currently available in the Work Tickets module. However, there are alternative workflows for managing shower door hardware.
Alternative Workflows:
- Import hardware into a PO first, then reference for Work Tickets
- Use the batch function in Work Tickets with your catalog items
- Create the PO with Showers Online import, then track inventory through normal workflows
Showers Online Versions
Showers Online has two versions: Citrix (desktop) and web-based. The TRUE integration works with PDF exports from either version.
As long as the exported PDF follows the standard Glass Order or Hardware List format, the integration should process it correctly regardless of which Showers Online version generated it.
If you're having connection issues between Showers Online and TRUE, verify:
- You're exporting the PDF from Showers Online (not trying to connect directly)
- The PDF format matches the expected Glass Order or Hardware List format
- You're using the Partner App import in TRUE, not attempting a direct integration
