Purpose

The LogiKal Integration imports material lists from LogiKal (YCalc) window and door estimating software directly into TRUE. This integration reads Excel exports and automatically creates material line items for glass panels and hardware - streamlining the materials management process for aluminum and glass fabrication projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the LogiKal integration

Setup & Access

The LogiKal integration is accessed through the Materials module.

Navigation Path:

  1. Navigate to Materials module
  2. Click the Gear icon
  3. Select Integrations
  4. Click LogiKal

Note: If you don't see the LogiKal option, contact your administrator to verify Partner App access permissions.

Partner App access is managed through user permissions in Company Preferences.

Contact your TRUE administrator to enable Partner App access for users who need to use the LogiKal integration. Access is typically granted at the user role level.

Both integrations import material data from estimating software, but they work with different applications:

  • LogiKal (YCalc): Window and door design software commonly used for larger commercial projects with aluminum and glass fabrication
  • GDS Estimating: Glass estimating software with different export formats

Many estimators use LogiKal/YCalc instead of GDS for larger jobs. Both integrations create material line items in TRUE, but accept different file formats.

File Format & Import Issues

The LogiKal integration requires Excel files in .xlsx format.

  • Supported: Excel .xlsx files
  • Not Supported: Older .xls files, CSV files, PDF exports

When exporting from LogiKal, ensure you select the Excel (.xlsx) export option.

Error 730 typically indicates a file format issue with the LogiKal export.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Verify the file is in .xlsx format (not .xls)
  2. Check that the column headers match the expected template
  3. Ensure the file hasn't been modified after export from LogiKal
  4. Try re-exporting the file from LogiKal
  5. Contact TRUE Support if the issue persists

LogiKal software updates occasionally change the column layout or headers in exported files. This can cause import failures.

What to Do:

  • Compare new exports with previously working files to identify differences
  • Note any columns that have been moved, renamed, or reformatted
  • Contact TRUE Support with examples of both the old (working) and new (failing) export files
  • TRUE can update the integration to accept the new format

Note: When LogiKal releases updates that change export formats, TRUE may need to update the integration. Older saved files may continue to work while new exports require a TRUE update.

If your team uses LogiKal reports that aren't currently supported by the TRUE integration, you can request additional report support.

To Request Support for New Report Types:

  1. Export sample files of the reports you need to import
  2. Note the report name in LogiKal (e.g., Material Analysis Excel, Elevation Drawing)
  3. Submit a support request with the sample files attached
  4. TRUE will evaluate adding support for the new report format

Currently Supported Reports:

  • Glass Panel Orders
  • Hardware Lists
  • Material Analysis Excel
  • Elevation Drawing
  • Glass Block Size

Troubleshooting

If you receive an error when importing Glass Panel orders, check the following:

  1. Verify the file is a Glass Panel Order export (not a different report type)
  2. Check that all required columns are present in the Excel file
  3. Ensure no cells contain invalid data (text in numeric fields, etc.)
  4. Try opening the file in Excel and saving as a new .xlsx file
  5. Contact TRUE Support with the error message and file attached

If the import appears to complete but no material records are created, this usually indicates a format mismatch.

Possible Causes:

  • The export is from a different LogiKal report type than expected
  • Column headers don't match the expected format
  • Data rows are in unexpected positions (e.g., header rows at wrong line)
  • The file contains no valid data rows

Tip: Compare your export file with a previously successful import file. Look for differences in column headers, row positions, and data formatting.
